Food - The Honors, Edinburgh

Complete satisfaction. Martin Wishart's smoked salmon. Utterly sublime. Dutch oyster leaves, not the English ones, the Dutch, which taste of the sea, and made me feel golden light which turned into ....

hand rolled tagliatelle with truffle puree and sea scallops. Steve and his staff really showed us the love.

There was Sicilian dessert with warm pineapple. Divine. Please, Sir, may I have some more?

Travel - Holdsworth House Hotel & Restaurant

A haven of Yorkshire tranquility, this 17th century Jacobean manor house will relax you in sublime rooms and feed you in it's mullioned windowed oak panelled dining room. A double AA Rosette winning chef means you can rely on superb locally sourced food, excellent wines, and a place by the fire for after dinner coffee.

Holdsworth House for romantic weddings, Christmas parties, Yorkshire breaks, or simply afternoon tea.

The Beatles stayed there in 1964. Jamie Oliver filmed his Great British Food show there, and the Bafta winning drama Last Tango in Halifax was filmed there. I stayed there so I know it is good. Very good.

Go there. Relax. Eat, sleep and re-marry.

Gardens - Kellie Castle Garden

Iconic. Sublime. Majestic.

The National Trust for Scotland says "the first mention of Kellie occurs in a Charter of David I from around 1150, to which Malmure, thane of Kellie was witness."

Witness the walled garden:

White rose trees dot the catmint.

Delphinium just coming into bloom.

Poppies hide in between ferns.

Massive bowls of peony kiss the borders.

Pink roses open.

Creatures roam.

Daisies blanket apple trees.

And many unusual faces look out to greet you. It is one of my very favorite places on earth.

Gardens - my own

Wonderful to see my own Sarah Bernhardt peony in bloom, and just planted this spring. As if pink was flicked out over the garden amidst all the green. Yellow morphed into pinks and reds in June.

I just love it. The Kingdom of Fife.

Art - Current Project 27 John Street, Cellardyke, Scotland

Complete.

Now where does the art go?

Great room for observing the Firth of Forth, cooking dinner, making a fire and the contemplation of life.

Television is there, but hidden away so all concentration goes to the fire.
Steel stairway.

Zinc wrapped skin.

Kellie Castle Garden Summer 2016

Green. So very green. Lush. The daffodils have morphed into tulips which have become lilacs which now transform into poppies and roses and the artichokes in the vegetable garden look like something out of Jurassic Park. Bees hovercraft around. Swoon. Kellie Castle garden.

Poppies

When it rains in Scotland, the ruffled skirts stand in place on beds of green.
